Chemistry lab reopens after PhD student poisoned

The University of Southampton has reopened all but one floor of its synthetic chemistry building, which was closed on 12 September after a PhD student fell ill with thallium and arsenic poisoning, Chemistry World reports.

The 18 September article states that police are “investigating all scenarios”. The building had been off-limits to researchers and students since 12 September, it says, but the closure was as a precaution, and now only one floor is “part of the continuing investigation”.
