The Home Office has disappointed researchers who have been urging it to update legislation on the transparency of animal research this year.
Many had hoped the legislation would be reviewed alongside the implementation of a new EU directive on animal research in UK legislation, due on 1 January 2013. But the Home Office has confirmed this will not happen until next year.
