Royal Institution confirms ‘possible’ sale of historic building

Richard Sykes, chairman of the Royal Institution, has confirmed reports that the charity may sell some, or all, of its historic building in London. The institution has struggled to recover from the costs of renovations over the past decade. Harry Kroto, Nobel laureate in chemistry, has launched a campaign to prevent the sale, arguing that it “shames our whole nation”.
