Sanger Institute director wins medicine prize

Mike Stratton, director of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Cambridge, has been awarded the 2013 Louis-Jeantet Prize for Medicine, a major European award for biomedical research.

Stratton won the prize, awarded by the Louis-Jeantet Foundation in Geneva, along with Peter Hegemann from Humboldt University in Germany and Georg Nagel from the University of Wurzburg, also in Germany.
