University casual employment rising in Scotland, says union

The University and College Union Scotland has said that what are called “zero-hours” contracts are being used increasingly at universities, including the University of Edinburgh.

Zero-hours contracts inform staff of the number of hours that they may be required to work. However, the contracts do not oblige employers to provide that employment.
