We would like to correct an error in yesterday’s report on HEFCE’s reaction to the Council for the Defence of British Universities in which we wrongly attributed a CDBU statement to HEFCE.
In our story we said: ‘The body, responding to criticism from the newly-formed Council for the Defence of British Universities, told Research Fortnight: “There is more or less consensual agreement among the academic community that REF/RAE has had implications beyond its stated purpose.”’
