Five research groups have received a total of £3 million from the Wellcome Trust to support researchers working in global health.
They comprise the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for the Bloomsbury universities, the University of Liverpool in partnership with the University of Glasgow, and the University of Sussex.
