‘Unacceptable’ lack of clarity in RCUK’s open-access policy, say peers

Research Councils UK must tackle “significant confusion” about its open-access policy and clarify that it does not require immediate compliance, the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee has said. Peers also recommended that the government undertakes a review of whether RCUK consulted adequately over the changes. In its response, RCUK acknowledged that “communication and engagement” around the policy has been “challenging”.
