University of Oxford in court over financial discrimination claims

A postgraduate student claiming to have been turned down by a University of Oxford college is to have his case heard in Manchester County Court on 15 February, according to an article on BBC News online.

The article says that Damien Shannon claims St Hugh’s College withdrew its offer of a place when he could not prove he had access to £12,900 for living expenses. Shannon said that he had taken out a loan for tuition fees, but could not prove access to further funds.
