AstraZeneca cuts 700 jobs in move to Cambridge

Pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca has invested £330 million in the creation of a global R&D centre and corporate headquarters in Cambridge. The proposed development, to be completed by 2016, will see the closure of the firm’s facility at Alderley Park, Cheshire, and result in an estimated loss of 700 UK staff. The company currently employs around 6,700 people in the UK.
