Science supporters petition government for more research money

The science campaign group Science is Vital has launched a petition calling on the UK government to increase its R&D spending to at least 0.8 per cent of GDP—the average for G8 member countries.

The petition asks the government to set “an ambitious target to increase its R&D spending”, in order to “demonstrate to citizens and investors alike its vision that science is vital for the United Kingdom”.
