Website aims to redress balance in animal-rights debate

Campaign group Understanding Animal Research has launched a website on animal rights extremism that it says will “redress the balance” in the debate on animal research.

In a statement on its website, published on 5 March, it says that animal-rights activists have “created an exaggerated impression of their movement” through websites, and that their use in the media as information sources “adds imbalance and further exaggerates the threat of extremism”.
