A scientist has been jailed for three months under the 1999 Good Laboratory Practice Regulations, Edinburgh Sheriff Court has confirmed.
Steve Eaton was working at the Edinburgh offices of US firm Aptuit in 2009 when the company reported him to the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
He was convicted last month, but his sentencing had been deferred.
