Foundation looks at women academics’ career plans

A management training organisation for UK higher education providers is to commission a longitudinal study of early and mid-career women in higher education institutions.

The Leadership Foundation wants to track the careers of women who participate in the foundation’s women-only leadership development programme Aurora. The study aims to give the foundation a better understanding of what helps and hinders women in their career progression, and the effectiveness of programmes such as Aurora.

Bids to undertake the study should be in the region of £110,000. The deadline for proposals is 10 December. The Aurora programme is expected to be completed by 700 women in 2014-15.
