Charles Swanton, leader of the Translational Cancer Therapeutics Laboratory at the Francis Crick Institute, has been appointed as the chief clinician at Cancer Research UK.
Swanton, who is a professor of personalised cancer medicine at University College London, will join the charity’s executive board in late summer, CRUK announced on 21 June.
He practices as a medical oncologist at University College London Hospitals and was a founding scientist of Achilles Therapeutics, a spinout that develops immunotherapies for cancer. Swanton is also running a clinical study that assesses how cancer develops, called TRACERx.
