The Russell Sage Foundation, a social-science funder in the United States, has opened a call on immigration and integration against a backdrop of rising nationalism. Antoaneta Roussi reports.

The Russell Sage Foundation mostly funds research that fits its four “regular programmes”: social inequality; the future of work; race, ethnicity and immigration; and behavioural economics. Each accepts project grant applications for up to $150,000 (£118,000).

The Immigration and Immigrant Integration Initiative was launched in March, to feed into the foundation’s Race, Ethnicity and Immigration Programme. The scheme was created in partnership with the philanthropic Carnegie Corporation.
