Publisher Nature Research and cosmetics manufacturer The Estée Lauder Companies have launched two global awards to celebrate the achievements of female scientists and efforts to encourage women into science.
The Inspiring Science Award will be awarded to a female early-career researcher who has “excelled in scientific discovery”, Nature Research said in an announcement on 9 April. Applicants for this award must have completed their PhD within the last 10 years.
A second prize, the Innovating Science Award, will go to an individual or organisation that has led a grassroots initiative to increase access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects for girls or women.
