The EPSRC’s latest industrial strategy tie-in targets computer scientists
Backed by £70 million from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, UK Research and Innovation’s Digital Security by Design challenge aims to develop technologies to protect computers from cyberattacks.
Its first wave of funding was awarded to the computer company Arm to develop a technology platform prototype highly resistant to cyber-threats. This work, undertaken with both commercial and academic partners, focuses on a technology called Cheri, or Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC Instructions.
