Reason for hope

A young charity offers a good chance of success for patient-centred bids

Bowel Cancer UK is a young research charity, having started its research programme in 2015. After merging with Beating Bowel Cancer in 2018, the charity set its research strategy to focus on two kinds of grants: pilot grants and project grants.

The pilot grants—which are open to applications now—provide funding of up to £25,000 for projects of up to 18 months, covering salaries and consumables. The deadline for applications is 2 May. The charity expects to open its next round of larger project grants toward the end of the year.
