Heaven Crawley makes her connections with non-academics count

Heaven Crawley (pictured) left academia after completing her PhD, on the experiences of refugees in the UK, to take up a position as a research officer in the Home Office. She then worked in policy-facing roles at the Institute for Public Policy Research and as a consultant, in her words, “at the interface between advocacy and international organisations”.

Now, she is professor of international migration at Coventry University and leader of the South-South Migration, Inequality and Development Hub at Coventry University after the bid she led won nearly £20 milllion from the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) in December 2018.
