Long-awaited immigration system ‘will give top priority’ to scientists and academics, says government
The government has announced its long-awaited post-Brexit immigration system, which will award higher points to would-be migrants with science PhDs and bigger salaries.
Industry groups are already warning of potential damage from the attempt to curtail immigration via the new system—which comes into effect on 1 January 2021 after the UK leaves the EU.
