Shankar Balasubramanian and David Klenerman recognised for development of DNA-sequencing technologies

UK chemists Shankar Balasubramanian and David Klenerman have been awarded the 2020 Millennium Technology Prize for their development of DNA-sequencing techniques.

The prestigious €1 million (£862,000) prize, which has been awarded by the Technology Academy Finland every two years since 2004, recognises the impact of science and innovation on the wellbeing of society.
