UK health funder launches plan to drive racial equality in research

   

National Institute for Health will assess changes to policies, practices and culture to boost equality

The UK’s national health research funder has launched a push to improve racial equality as it warned of a lack of diversity among those leading research.

The National Institute for Health and Care Research says its Race Equality Framework will act as a “tool” to “assess how policies, practices and culture could be changed to better serve diverse communities”. It was developed by the NIHR’s Race Equality Public Action Group (REPAG).
