The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’s goal of completing its funding exercise by March 2012 may be unrealistic, the council of the Institute of Physics has said.
The statement, issued after a council meeting on 24 November, said the EPSRC’s timescale for announcing which areas to grow, shrink and maintain may not give enough time for consultation.
