Cambridge astronomer wins gold

Andy Fabian, an astronomer and astrophysicist at the University of Cambridge, has received the Royal Astronomical Society’s 2012 gold medal for astronomy.

The society says that Fabian was given the award partly for his work on black holes and on the gas found in the cores of clusters of galaxies.
