Wellcome gives £8.6m for parasitic disease research

The Wellcome Trust has awarded a five-year, £8.6 million Strategic Translation Award to the University of Dundee for research on neglected parasitic diseases.

The award, announced on 7 March, involves a multi-million pound partnership with GlaxoSmithKline to discover drug treatments for diseases such as Chagas disease, leishmaniasis and African sleeping sickness.
