HRA should control NHS R&D approvals, says report

The recently established Health Research Authority should be in control of NHS research and development permissions, a report by the British Heart Foundation has said.

Although the Academy of Medical Sciences has recommended that such permissions should be brought under the HRA’s remit, the government has not backed the plans.
