Royal Society seeks views on cybersecurity

The Royal Society has begun a project to determine the biggest challenges that are emerging in cybersecurity research and what policy should be put in place to address them.

In an online announcement on 4 November, the society said it had formed a steering group to oversee the project, Cybersecurity Research: a vision for the UK. The 10-member steering group is being led by John McCanny, director of the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology at Queen’s University Belfast.

The society also launched a call for evidence from representatives of government, academia, industry and other organisations. It said it would be accepting evidence submissions until 9 December and it aims to produce a report in September 2014.
