Chemists urge more government spending on UK science base

Science and innovation must be the main driving force behind the UK’s economic recovery, a group of chemists, led by Robert Parker, chief executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, has said in a letter to The Times.

The letter, published on 20 March, says that “Britain is walking an economic tightrope” and that the government must provide a “long-term and sustained increase in science investment” in the Budget.
