Leverhulme Trust backs search for evidence on open learning

A £1 million Leverhulme Trust grant will fund 15 Open University doctoral scholarships that will test the evidence on inclusive approaches to learning.

The use of social networking and modern devices such as mobile phones and tablets will be taken into account in the research, which will cover a range of disciplines such as education, educational technology, languages, psychology, international development and science.

The OU’s Institute of Educational Technology and the Faculty of Education and Language Studies will host the full-time, three-year doctoral fellowships, and the OU will fund a further three scholars from developing countries.
