Liverpool psychologist to lead professional body

The head of the University of Liverpool’s Institute of Psychology, Health and Society has been elected president of the British Psychological Society for 2016-17.

The election of Peter Kinderman, a clinical psychologist, was announced at the annual conference of the BPS on 6 May. The society is the representative body for psychologists in the UK.

On his appointment, Kinderman said: “This is a massive privilege and I will do all I can, during my term of office, to ensure that psychological science and practice contribute effectively to our shared goal of enhancing society and improving psychological health and wellbeing.”
