Forensics ‘facing disaster’ without remedial action

Forensic science in the UK and abroad is at a crossroads and its quality needs to be significantly improved, according to a Royal Society publication.

In a special issue of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences. the editors warn that the discipline of forensic science has reached a critical juncture where its credibility is at stake.

The August issue, published on 22 June, is devoted entirely to forensic science and the problems facing the field.
