New blood at CaSE

The British Heart Foundation, the UK’s largest independent funder of cardiovascular research, has joined the Campaign for Science and Engineering.

In a statement on 29 June, chief executive Simon Gillespie said that the BHF invested around £100 million in cardiovascular research every year, but “cannot do this alone”.

“We need an excellent environment for science in the UK,” Gillespie said. “In particular high levels of government investment, and we are looking forward to working with CaSE to champion science and engineering with UK politicians.”
