British Academy takes lead on call to end child labour

The British Academy and the Department for International Development have launched a call intended to advise the government on how to tackle slavery, human trafficking and child labour.

The call for policy-oriented funding bids that focus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals was announced by the academy on 20 June.

The 17 goals, part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, were agreed upon by member states in 2015. The goals follow on from the Millennium Development Goals in that the aim is to reduce poverty, eradicate hunger and make quality education accessible to all.
