Embrace e-voting, says IET

The Institution of Engineering and Technology is urging the government to introduce e-voting in future elections, arguing it will increase turnout and reduce costs.

The call for an electronic voting system came as voting for the next UK parliament got underway on 8 June.

IET vice-president Will Stewart said in a statement that e-voting would encourage more young people to participate in elections.
