The Royal Society, the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Wellcome Trust have made a pledge to make the translation of research to market commonplace in UK science.
The Royal Society announced the funders’ joint commitment Transforming UK Translation on 25 July.
The document outlines several outputs and activities that will take place in universities and research institutes. Included in the plans, is a commitment to opening training and development opportunities so that researchers, including those at the start of their career, can develop skills in translating research.
