A coalition of researchers, industry and public health organisations has called on the UK government to give prominence to healthcare research issues during negotiations to leave the European Union.
The Brexit Health Alliance released a statement on 1 August arguing that it is in the interests of both UK and the EU to put health issues near the top of the agenda in negotiations on Britain’s future relationship with the EU.
At the same time it called on the government to provide alternative funding for medical research and to ensure that UK citizens’ right to receive healthcare in EU countries was preserved.
