The Wellcome Trust and the Simons Foundation have provided £10 million for an international neuroscience research project.
The International Brain Lab will bring together 21 neuroscience groups from the UK, the United States, France, Switzerland and Portugal to collaborate on research into how brain activity affects decision-making.
The researchers will analyse learning and decision-making in mice as a first step to identifying the brain network dysfunctions that underlie mental health disorders in humans.
