The Wellcome Trust has warned that it may have to reconsider its commitment to UK science in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
Writing in The Guardian newspaper on 30 September, Jeremy Farrar, director of the biomedical research charity, said collaborations between the UK and other European countries have been crucial to some of the biggest advances in science.
However, this would be under threat in the case of a no-deal Brexit, he warned, describing the possible outcome for research as “hugely damaging”.
