Cancer Research UK has hired Michelle Mitchell, head of the MS Society, as its next chief executive.
Mitchell will replace Harpal Kumar, who will step down in summer, CRUK announced on 1 May.
She will oversee one of Europe’s largest philanthropic budgets for cancer research, which in 2016-17 amounted to £432 million.
