Shamit Saggar is waging a war against confusion. The head of the Campaign for Social Science is passionate about solving many problems; but at this moment he is most exercised about how people are being bamboozled by marketers.
“Industry knows perfectly well that many vulnerable people haven’t got a clue, and they want to keep it that way. It’s an opportunity to prey upon their vulnerability,” says Saggar, a political scientist at the University of Essex who took on the leadership of the CSS in October 2017.
