Royal Statistical Society asks for an end to misuse of statistics in elections and referenda

The next government should commit to greater data sharing for statistics and research purposes, the Royal Statistical Society has said in its updated Data Manifesto ahead of the forthcoming general election.

The society said that increasing data sharing between government departments could strengthen public services—including health, education, housing, transport and the lives of the public.
