Shah will start in February 2020, after eight-year stint at Royal Statistical Society

Humanities and social science body the British Academy has appointed Hetan Shah as its chief executive.

Shah has been the executive director the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) for the last eight years and will take over from interim head Robin Jackson in February 2020. The academy is likely to hope this will draw a line under a difficult period after Alun Evans resigned as chief executive in April, following allegations of breaches of the organisation’s harassment and bullying policy.
