Royal Society’s president tells party leaders to invest in science

Letter published alongside manifesto calling for association with Horizon Europe and immigration reform

The President of the Royal Society has urged party leaders to stop taking science for granted and to invest in it, as the learned society sets out its wish list for the next government.

In the letter, published on 14 November, Venki Ramakrishnan said the UK’s status as a world leader in research was an “advantage that we must build on”.
