Royal Society of Chemistry appoints acting chief executive

  

Helen Pain to hold position until November while Robert Parker switches to part-time role

The deputy chief executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry has become acting chief executive while Robert Parker takes a leave of absence.

Helen Pain will hold the position until 1 November 2020 while Parker—who has been at the helm of the learned society since 2011—recovers from two planned separate hip replacements, the RSC said on 20 January.
