Failure to deliver on dementia moonshot a ‘major blow’

Spending special: disappointment as government fails to announce promised doubling of dementia research funding

Dementia research charities have expressed their disappointment after the government failed yet again to deliver on its election manifesto pledge to double dementia spending.

The Conservative Party pledged to double research spending on the disease in 2019, but two years later researchers say they have not yet seen any sign of what the government said at the time would be a “dementia moonshot”.
