Cancer Research UK highlights barriers to healthcare research

Charity finds poor implementation of strategies, and poor coordination between policy and practice

A poor implementation of existing strategies is holding back research in the healthcare sector, according to a report from the UK’s largest cancer research charity.

The new report by the Cancer Research UK and the Centre for Health Services Studies at the University of Kent, finds that the successes in areas such as Covid-19 research mask “fundamental barriers to research in the UK that existed before the pandemic”.
