Charity warns that rising fees mean postgraduate study is the “new frontier for social mobility”
Government loans for postgraduate students have helped to widen access to master’s courses but rising tuition fees at some institutions could harm that progress, according to a social mobility charity.
In a report published on 24 June, the Sutton Trust argued that access to postgraduate courses was the “new frontier for social mobility”. It called on the government to make sure that loans for students better reflected the costs involved in their studies.
