World governments told to make “strong commitment” to support digital industries ahead of COP26 conference

An influential group of IT experts in the UK has called on world leaders to increase support for digital technologies to tackle climate change ahead of the United Nations COP26 conference in Glasgow.

“There needs to be more funding for research and development so that IT and digital tech can tackle the climate emergency,” said John Higgins, president of BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, on 10 August.
