But government called on to maintain support for life science sector
The UK’s biotech sector has enjoyed its best funding quarter of 2022 so far as it raised £579 million, according to new data, with £247m in venture capital and £332m in public follow-on financing.
Released on 21 October, the data from trade body the Bioindustry Association (BIA) and analytics company Clarivate* revealed that investment in the sector had risen in the summer compared to the rest of the year, as £450m was raised in spring and £481m at the beginning of the year.
